Mohe Panghat Pe ...

This is an extract from a famous hindi movie. In this Radhaji is saying that Lord Krishna is very naughty and always tease her. Lord Krishna the master of mischief is very beloved to every one. Krishna the 8th avatar of Lord Vishnu is the most glorious incarnations of hindu believes.

Every year on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Sravana, the birth of Lord Krishna is celebrated with much pomp and fair. This day is also know as Gokulashtami (as he was the prince of Gokul) and was brought up by Nand (the chieftain of Gokul) and his wife Yashoda.

According to traditions he was born in Mathura in jail to Vasudev and Devaki. His mama Kans was intended to kill him, but according to Vishnu's plan he was shifted to Nand's house safely.

This was the traditional and ancient story related to this. But these days this festival is one of the biggest festivals of the country. All over the country many matki phod competitions are organized. Temples are decorated like brides and special prayers are held. People keep fast and at midnight after offering prasad and prayers to Krishna open their fast. The best part of this festival are the yummy and mouth watering delicacies prepared specially for this day.

So get ready and brace up yourself for having a blast on this Janamashtami. That is approaching very soon.
